Employees may use private vehicles to transport participants during program hours if the employee has a California Driver’s License, a DMV record of safe driving on file, current registration, proof of adequate insurance coverage, and his/her vehicle is safely maintained. If private vehicles are used they can only transport the maximum number of individuals approved for the model.
Participants use Regional Center funded transportation to get to and from the program. Transportation can be arranged by the consumer or his/her authorized representative, or with the assistance of the participant’s Regional Center Case Manager.
Consumers participate in activities within the community. Consumers access community sites by walking or utilizing public transportation (i.e., fixed bus routes, Paratransit, Regional Transit: AC Transit and BART) or private vehicle.
